It’s the 14th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death

Fourteen years ago today, Princess Diana died in a horrific car crash in a Paris tunnel. Also killed in the accident were Diana’s boyfriend, Dodi al-Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul.

On that day, Fayed and Paul were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Princess of Wales was rushed to a hospital, but she died shortly after the crash. She was 36. Her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, were 15 and 12 when their mother died.

Diana and her legacy continue to captivate people today. She is remembered as “the people’s princess” because of her warmth and her intense commitment to charity work to help children and adults who were seriously ill and homeless. She also supported the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a campaign that won a Nobel Peace Prize after her death.
