Noah’s Ark is a favorite Bible story about a man being ordered by God to build a giant Ark for the big flood.
Although the Bible says God has promised that He will no longer flood the world again, a religious sect in Kentucky who calls themselves “Answers in Genesis Christian Ministy” has built a giant ark, according to reports by several international news sites on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
Dubbed as “The Noah’s Ark Project,” the classic marine vehicle measures 152 m. long and 24 m. high and it’s made of wood. The appearance and other specifications were basically similar to what the Bible describes.
But this Ark nestled on about 325 hectares of a Kentucky farmland is not for an upcoming flood but for a theme park. It’s aim is to tell the world the story of the legendary flood is not fable but part of human history.
Noah’s Ark will be part of the proposed US$170 million project called “Ark Encounter,” a Biblical theme park that will also feature Tower of Babel.
Mike Zovath, Project Manager of the ark, said: “The message here is, God’s word is true. There’s a lot of doubt: ‘Could Noah have built a boat this big, could he have put all the animals on the boat?’ Those are questions people all over the country ask.”
