UST grad tops physicians' exam; 420 pass


MANILA - A total of 420 out of 863 examinees passed the physician licensure exam given by the Board of Medicine this month in Manila and Cebu, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Thursday.
A graduate of University of Sto. Tomas (UST) topped the exam. UST's Chicco Xerxes de Leon Pangan placed first with an 86.33% rating.
Denver Francisco Sapo and Kristina Anne Balce Co, both graduates of Our Lady of Fatima University, placed second and third, respectively.
Sapo got a score of 86.25% while Co got a rating of 86%.
Tied for fourth place are Francia Victoria Abarcar de los Reyes of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (85%) and Marie Angelie Fernandez So of San Beda College (85%).
Four more graduates of Our Lady of Fatima University-Valenzuela are in the top 10:
5th Jena Angela Tanduyan Perano: 84.92%
6th Alexandrea Castillo Bulandos: 84.5%
7th (tie) Harold Pabillar Iturralde: 84.42%
9th (tie) Vanessa Marie Violago Calabia: 83.67%
There are 3 graduates of Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in the top 10:
6th (tie) Hazel Karen Novido Raz: 84.5%
9th (tie) Randell Santos Arias: 83.67%
10th Marjan Orata Heidari: 83.58%
Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was the top performing school with 74 out of 90 examinees passing the exam or a passing rate of 82%.
