In case you’re not aware, Asus is the manufacturer behind the Google-branded Nexus 7 tablet.  We know that the Nexus 7 is a hit and the reason behind this is its set of features, combined with a really reasonable price. Now Asus has a new 7-inch Android tablet that is Nexus 7-like.  It’s called the MeMo Pad HD7 and like the Nexus 7, it features a 7-inch IPS display.  The display is however better on the new tablet as it packs a 1280 x 800 resolution.  And unlike the Nexus 7, the MeMo Pad HD7 has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.  The Nexus 7 managed to offer only a front-facing camera.
Rounding up the main specs of the Asus MeMo Pad HD7 are an ARM Cortex A7 quad-core CPU, SonicMaster audio, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, stereo speakers and Android 4.0.  The Asus MeMo Pad HD7 is 10.8mm thick and weighs 302 grams.
The specs are good enough but the price will make this tablet popular among Android users.  The Asus MeMo Pad HD7 is priced at only $129 for the 8GB version and $149 for the 16GB version.  Using current conversion rates, the 8GB Memo Pad HD7 will retail for about P5,500, before taxes of course. With taxes factored in, the MeMo Pad HD7 will probably retail for about P6,500 in the Philippines.  That will make the MeMo Pad HD7 a favorite choice for those who have budgetary constraints.
