Intel, processor manufacturer from Santa Clara, California, United
States announced Atom processor System-on-Chip (SoC) for a new quad-core
tablet device. This processor is specifically for mobile devices. It is
the latest generation, code-named ‘Bay Trail-T‘.
Digitimes reported that a processor-based device ‘Bay Trail-T’ will
be circulated at the end of 2013 or the holiday season. Hermann Eul,
General Manager of Intel’s Mobile and Communications Group revealed new
details about the fourth generation of Intel Atom processor-based
System-on-Chip.
He said that this device uses microarchitecture Silvermont. It is the latest generation of Intel 22nm technology
for tablets and ultra-mobile devices. The device’s battery can last up
to more than eight hours. In addition, Intel also announced the Atom SoC
22nm (codenamed ‘Merrifield’) for smartphones.
The processor supports the latest Android-based devices as well as
Windows 8.1. Eul also revealed that the sophistication of the processor
will support the user to get increase in graphics performance.
The Intel Atom processor is also equipped with security features from
McAfee Live Safe. These features will protect users to prevent phishing
attacks, keeping the identity of online users and create user data
remains secure while protecting the device.
