Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and GK Films’ dramatic thriller “Argo,” directed by and starring Academy Award® winner Ben Affleck (“The Town,” “Good Will Hunting”).

The film is being produced by Academy Award® winner George Clooney (“Syriana”), Oscar® nominee Grant Heslov (“Good Night, and Good Luck.”) and Affleck.

Based on true events, “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis—the truth of which was unknown by the public for decades.
On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA “exfiltration” specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

“Argo” also stars Oscar® winner Alan Arkin (“Little Miss Sunshine”), Bryan Cranston (TV’s “Breaking Bad”) and John Goodman (“You Don’t Know Jack”). The main cast also includes Kerry Bishé, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Tate Donovan, Clea DuVall, Victor Garber, Zeljko Ivanek, Richard Kind, Scoot McNairy, Chris Messina, Michael Parks, and Taylor Schilling.

Affleck is directing the film from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a selection from Master in Disguise by Antonio Mendez. David Klawans, Chris Brigham, Graham King, Tim Headington, Chay Carter and Nina Wolarsky are serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar®-nominated director of photography Rodrigo Prieto (“Brokeback Mountain”), production designer Sharon Seymour (“The Town”); Oscar®-nominated editor William Goldenberg (“Seabiscuit,” “The Insider”); and Oscar®-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West (“The Social Network,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”).

Filming on “Argo” began in Los Angeles. Future locations include Washington D.C. and Istanbul.

Slated for release in 2012, “Argo” is a presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with GK Films, a Smoke House Pictures production, to be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Rain or shine, John Lloyd Cruz, KC Concepcion, Erik Santos, Yeng Constantino and Pooh sang their hearts out for Euro-Pinoys.

“Marry me, Yeng!” exclaimed an eager fan of Multi-platinum Recording Artist Yeng Constantino amid tens of thousands of Filipinos who flocked to the Lampton Park, Hounslow for the 27th Barrio Fiesta sa London.

A total of 45,000 people arrived on July 16 and 17 from as far as Amsterdam and other parts of Europe just to see Yeng and their other favorite Kapamilya stars like “Imortal” sensation John Lloyd Cruz, “The Buzz” co-host KC Concepcion, “ASAP Rocks” mainstay Erik Santos and “Banana Split” wacky comedian Pooh. Neither the rain nor the ongoing train maintenance at the Picadilly line servicing Central London stopped Euro-Pinoys from travelling all the way to Hounslow.

The Prince of Pop, Erik Santos, headlined the Saturday show while John Lloyd, KC, Pooh and Yeng did the jam-packed Sunday show. Pooh let loose his comic impersonation of Manny Pacquiao. John Lloyd, who was recently proclaimed by a Philippine magazine as this year’s Most Beautiful Star, plunged into the sea of people so as not to disappoint those who wanted to have an up-close-and-personal encounter with him. In a sweet banter with KC, John Lloyd tickled the audience’s fancy, as if hinting an upcoming love team. In her solo performance, KC made the male crowd go “ooh” with her lovely voice and sexy moves. But, it was Yeng Constantino, the First Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer, who proved to be the biggest surprise of the TFC Show. Her back-to-back rendition of the Beatles medley and the Air Supply medley brought the house down.

“It’s a great feeling to be here to witness how our Kapamilyas just love our stars so much that they came to watch and stayed despite the rain,” said Mr. Raffy Lopez, the Chief Operating Officer of ABS-CBN Global who experienced the magnitude of the London Barrio Fiesta first hand.

“We’re thankful to the Philippine Centre for trusting us once again to be its partner in mounting the biggest event in the region, to the presentors Western Union, SMDC and Lebara Mobile and the major sponsors Ericsson Money Services, Sta. Lucia Properties, LBC, and Globe Telecoms, and to all of our Kapamilyas who have been supporting TFC for many, many years,” said Mr. Edgardo Garcia, the Managing Director of ABS-CBN Europe and Middle East.

As supporters leave the Lampton Park, bringing home wonderful memories of this year’s highly successful Barrio Fiesta, they can only expect more next year when another star-studded show from TFC comes to Europe to warm their hearts and brighten an otherwise rainy day.

Klout now factors in YouTube activity as part of its scoring system for social influence.

The feature, which rolled out on Monday evening, allows a user to sync his or her YouTube and Klout accounts. Once synced, Klout will then analyze comments, engagement, likes, subscriber counts and other information in a user’s YouTube account and factor it into a user’s final Klout score. Klout uses social data from Twitter, Facebook and other social media services in order to score a user’s social influence from one to 100.

While some people may not care about a score of their social influence, more and more brands do. Businesses have been using Klout to identify social influencers in order to offer them perks and freebies. Most recently Klout partnered with Spotify to offer invites to users with high Klout scores.

The San Francisco-based startup has been on a roll in recent months. In June it added LinkedIn, and in July it started factoring in Foursquare data into Klout scores. It also launched a +K button to identify topical experts across social media. The startup has also announced that it will add Google+ once the search giant releases an API for its social network.

Klout has raised $10 million in three rounds of funding from Kleiner Perkins, Greycroft Partners, Mayfield Fund, ff Venture Capital, Lucid Ventures and a host of angel investors including Paige Craig and Bobby Yazdani.
