Teary-eyed Mariel Rodriguez can’t contain the happiness she felt because of the “touching” birthday surprises she received from her “Happy Yipee Yehey!” (HYY) family yesterday.

“Ang Tanging Hinga Mo,” renamed as “Ang Tanging Birthday Mo” in a while, was made extra special, as Mariel’s closest friends Lara Quigaman, Valerie Concepcion and husband’s daughter Queenie Padilla battled out for it. Also present for the game were Mariel’s cousin Bianca and fans club president Juliet. Mariel sang her favorite songs “Fallin” and “Ipagpatawad Mo.”

Meanwhile, her co-host Randy Santiago shocked everyone when he introduced Robin Padilla as one of the guests. But it was not hubby Robin who appeared but “Ro-Bentong” in Robin Hood costume. For more updates, follow HYY on Twitter, http://twitter.com/#!/hyyofficial

It all started with some teasing from his friends, but Alden Richards‘ dream date became a reality last August 4 when his crush Sam Pinto joined him on a cruise.

According to a report by PEP, Sam Pinto was surprised when Alden Richards brought her to the Prestige Cruises in Manila Bay. She thought they were just having a simple dinner and she has no idea that the date will become extraordinary.

“Actually, sabi ko sa kanya [Alden], ‘Surprise me,’ and na-surprise nga ako,” the sexy Kapuso star said. “Kasi ine-expect ko mga dinner-dinner lang talaga na ordinary, e, ito extraordinary. I’m happy naman. Very happy.”

Alden wanted the date to be very special and romantic so he asked for help from his manager.

“Tinulungan ako ng manager ko to tap Sweet Deals website na nag-organize ng dinner cruise na ‘to for us,” the Tween Hearts star said. “It’s actually more of [spending] quality time, more of getting to know each other, kasi we don’t know much about each other pa naman, e,” he added.

Looks like Matthew Lewis took over coming to Chicago for Tom Felton!

The 21-year-old actor showed up at the AMC River East Theatre to surprise some lucky midnight screening movie goers in Chicago on Thursday night (July 14).

“Had a sick night at Studio Paris in Chicago celebrating HP7P2 release. Shame I gotta get up at 7am! Let me know what you guys think. Ta x” Matt tweeted after his appearance and night out on the town.

Matt also ran into MTV to dish his most embarassing fan moment: “I had a terribly embarrassing moment in New York City. I was in Times Square with my friend Nick, and there was a big Harry Potter poster in Times Square. I was pointing out where I was on the poster. I said, ‘I’m just there next to Emma [Watson],’ and as I started pointing at the poster somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Excuse me, are you Matthew Lewis?’”
