Veteran broadcast journalist Tina Monzon-Palma returns to “Krusada” to champion the welfare of children who are forced to supervise their own households.

Instead of going to school and playing with their friends, Christian Jay and John Mark are compelled to stay at home and look after their siblings.

As the eldest and second eldest children in their respective families, they assume the roles of their parents, who are too occupied with their jobs to take care of their kids.

This Thursday (September 8) in “Krusada,” join Tina, together with Bantay Bata, as she stands up for the rights of kids who have no choice but have their innocence gobbled up by domestic responsibilities.

As a crusader for children’s well-being, Tina believes that children have the right to an adequate amount of play, and more importantly, the access to schooling.

Because it takes more than words to make a stand, listen, take part, and be one with Tina Monzon-Palma’s cause this Thursday (September 8) in “Krusada,” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN, or catch it earlier at 9:15 pm on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable channel 26).

NEW YORK | Thu Jul 28, 2011 7:01pm EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Verizon Wireless plans to pay a $10 billion dividend early next year to its parents, Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L) and Verizon Communications (VZ.N).

Vodafone will receive $4.5 billion, or $1 billion less than the amount the British company's chief financial officer, Andy Halford, had said he expected as recently as June 30.

Verizon Wireless, the largest U.S. wireless service, said it would make the payout based on the stake held by each parent company. Vodafone owns 45 percent of Verizon Wireless, and Verizon Communications owns the rest.

Vodafone has not received a payout from Verizon Wireless since 2005, in large part because Verizon has focused on paying down debt.

Verizon, which controls the wireless unit, had recently signaled that it would be ready to pay a dividend in 2012.

There has also long been speculation that Verizon would try to buy out Vodafone's stake in the venture, although no deal has come to pass.
