The cultural landmark in Parma Heights known as Yorktown Lanes was damaged in afternoon fire which reportedly started in the grill area.
Bryan Sloan, Parma Heights Fire Chief, said they received a call at around 4:00 p.m. that the landmark catches fire. Since the bowling alley is only 500 feet from the fire station, firefighters were able to control the situation.
Yorktown Lanes is owned by Mike Cottrell’s family since it opened in 1959. It is popularly known for its retro grill and bar area and Rock ’n’ Bowl Friday night parties.
No one was hurt during the fire, according to reports.
