Everyone tells you to have a niche; you can’t make money with out a niche. So how do you choose? What all do you need to do for finding a  niche that you’re going to love, that draws traffic and turns out to be profitable?

Well, first off, any niche CAN be profitable. That doesn’t mean it will be, but if you’re passionate about crocheting miniature kittens and you love it enough to write about it several times per week, then it’s likely there are others who love the same thing. However, you can monetize your site with a bit more than just miniature kittens. There’s a ton of things you can promote that relate to crocheting itself. You can even write your own ebooks to sell. They can be step by step on how to make miniature kittens.

Some people want to get into niche marketing for the money making aspects. They may not have true passion on the topic, but they like it well enough to spend time working on it. Sometimes it’s hard to decide which niche to pick. All the big ones, like making money, health and fitness, and affiliate marketing seem to be hard to break into–but not impossible. It appears that dog training and potty training are always used as examples, so they may have grown from that as well.

You need to have a niche that you do care about. If you don’t care or have some personal involvement in the niche, it’s likely you will not do it justice or give up too soon before it starts pulling in money. With so many get rich quick scams and reports of making a six figure income in six months out there, it’s easy to get discouraged if you don’t see some income immediately. You need to remember that marketing may be a job but it’s not like a regular job–you don’t get a paycheck every week. You have to work and create your own income and that takes time.

Finding a niche that hits the jackpot for you isn’t always easy. In fact you may have several ideas or several things that you really enjoy. That makes it hard to focus most of your attention on one thing, but that’s a key to being successful in a niche. Work hard at one, start getting traffic and income before you start working on another.

It also takes a lot of work to research once you decide on a niche. You need to know how many monthly searches are being done, who the competition is, are there any good affiliate programs, what topics will you cover. All of this needs to be done before you even start. Where do you even begin with all of that?

There is an easy solution. I’ve found a site that does most of the research for you. In fact, I purchased one of these packs myself for a niche I wanted to work with. Not only is the keyword research done for you, but a ton of other stuff and a step by step daily guide to help you get up and running. It truly makes niche research easy as pie.

If you’re considering niche marketing or just need some extra research if you’re already doing it, check out these niche research packs.

Niche marketing can be fun and rewarding, but you need to do some homework before deciding if it’s right for you.

Do you have any tips you’d like to share for finding a niche? Did you have any struggles before you found the right one for you? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
